(Well, for me, not so) Wet Paint at the Newport Art Museum was this weekend. Wet Paint is a fundraiser auction for the museum where artist donate recent work (a lot of it done the day of) and it goes into a silent/live auction. This piece I did was an incredible amount of fun to do, the doll house is the Griswold House (main building and gallery of Newport Art Museum), and the little girl is based of the curator of the museum. I made it a limited edition of five, donated one and had it sell fairly well. Although not wet oil paint or still tacky acrylic, I did start and finish the piece this past week. It’s a great event and love helping the art museum every year.
